This book, Flayderman's Guide to Anigique American Firearms and their Values" is absolutely essential for any collector of firearms. The book is organized well, easily understood and very easy to find even some very obscure items.
As with any "price guied", however, use it only as a guide. Values on antique firearms change rapidly with demand, availability and condition. While a particular items may be quite scarce, it may not have a particularly large group of collectors looking for one.
