About the Author

Brian Edwards is the Professor of Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art, Heriot-Watt University. He has a PhD from the Mackintosh School of Architecture at Glasgow University. With more than 16 books to his name, he has considerable expertise and experience in the area of sustainable housing, urban design and architecture.

Magda Sibley is the Director of the Architecture undergraduate course at Liverpool University and the Departmental international links coordinator. Dr Sibley has conducted various design workshops in cities such as Cairo, Amman and Fez, and has recently completed research projects (funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Board) on housing and public baths in the world heritage cities of Fez, Aleppo and Damascus.

Mohamad Hakmi is Dean of Architecture at Al-Baath University in Homs, Syria. With a PhD from Sofia University he has held several senior academic positions in the Middle East and is the author of a number of books and journal articles on architecture, urban design and heritage conservation. His research interests include high-density courtyard housing, an area of academic concern which flowed in part from his election a few years earlier as Mayor of the City of Homs.

Peter Land is Professor of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. Educated at the Architectural Association in London, Yale University and Carnegie Mellon University, his research interests include high-density housing, low-energy design and courtyard typologies. He was the UN Chief Architect for the Lima Experimental Housing Project in Peru which features a neighbourhood of 450 courtyard houses.

Beautiful

Beautiful artwork on single-sided paper for anyone who wants to frame or scrapbook their finished pages. My only complaint is that the format is a bit cheap, just thin paperback material that is difficult to lay flat in order to get the best angle for coloring. I can't bring myself to remove a star for that, however, because I feel it would be doing Mr. Klein's work a disservice.

Also keep in mind that when a book says it's for adults, it's best to heed that heads-up. The "dark" in this book's title doesn't appear to just reflect the fact that the backgrounds are black instead of white, but I think it speaks to an overall theme of darker imagery than one might be used to in a coloring book.

Buyer beware! This was a limited edition coloring book. The ones that are being sold right now are counterfeit. Please support the artist and do not purchase these. I will be returning the fake and I will wait for the re release.

This review is only 3 Stars because these are not Mr Kline's original books. The art is Mr Kline's the books are not! The dark background in these books are not original the original books background is darker. The original books were limited edition prints which ended 10/31/16 any books sold or printed after that date are not original and are a dishonest representation of the Artist. Why Amazon has not stopped this I don't know. The stars are for Mr Kline's work not the bootleg copies of his books.

About the Author

Michael Patrick Adams, PhD, is an accomplished educator, author, and national speaker. The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development in Austin, Texas, named Dr. Adams a Master Teacher. He has published two other textbooks with Pearson Education: Core Concepts in Pharmacology and Pharmacology for Nurses: A Pathophysiologic Approach.

 

Dr. Adams obtained his master’s degree in pharmacology from Michigan State University and his doctorate in education from the University of South Florida. Dr. Adams was on the faculty of Lansing Community College and St. Petersburg College, and was Dean of Health Programs at Pasco-Hernando Community College for 15 years. He is currently Professor of Biological Sciences at Pasco-Hernando Community College.

Carol Quam Urban, PhD, RN, is the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Nursing and an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, College of Health and Human Services, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She teaches pharmacology and pathophysiology and serves as a doctoral advisor for students in administrative practicum experiences, as well as Chair and Reader on dissertation committees. At Mason, she serves on the Distance Education Council and the General Education Committee and has presented on “Lessons Learned: Launching a Fully Online RN-to-BSN Pathway.” She has published the Pearson textbook Pharmacology for Nurses: A Pathophysiologic Approach with Dr. Adams and Dr. Holland.

I wish this book was ordered for my pre-licensure program because it is an excellent textbook. Its quite large as there is obvio

Used it for a RN to BSN program. Sadly, I wish this book was ordered for my pre-licensure program because it is an excellent textbook. Its quite large as there is obviously a lot of material to cover, but I find the chapters are very manageable. Very few chapters are greater than 20 pages and many are actually 10-15 pages or less. Within each chapter, the material is presented in a very concise yet robust manner. It reads very easily. I still remember my pre-licensure program pharm textbook. It was horrible - needlessly long chapters, disjointed presentation of material within chapters, etc.
